Summary/Abstract: Czech readers were introduced to the Slovenian prose writer, screenwriter, and director Miha Mazzini (b. 1961) through the translation of his novel *Kralj ropotajočih duhov*, published under the title *Já, Tito a gramofon* (translated by Kristýna Pellarová; Prague: Argo, 2005). In late October, I had the opportunity to spend two unforgettable days in Polish Silesia—specifically in Katowice and Sosnowiec—with this prominent figure of contemporary Slovenian literature, alongside local scholars of Slovenian studies. During a conversation held at the Cogitatur club in Katowice, we asked him about his literary work, his views on art, and his outlook on life.
