CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE VALORISATION OF ETHNOMUSICOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN ARAD COUNTY: IOAN T. FLOREA

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the contributions of ethnomusicologist Ioan T. Florea to the research and valorization of traditional musical heritage in Arad County, with a focus on the volume Folclor muzical din județul Arad. 500 melodii de joc (1974). The study highlights the importance of this work in the context of the maturation of Romanian ethnomusicology, comments on the field methodology used by Florea, the procedures for classifying the repertoire and the documentary relevance of the collected material for understanding regional musical identity. The paper emphasizes the role of Ioan T. Florea's research in the preservation and transmission of folkloric heritage, but also its value for contemporary ethnomusicological research. Through historical contextualization and critical analysis, the study contributes to the revaluation of a fundamental source for the knowledge of musical traditions in western Romania.
