Summary/Abstract: The significant Czech migration to Bulgaria in the late 19th and early 20th centuries was an interesting phenomenon both inside and outside of the field of Czech-Bulgarian relations. This study concerns one aspect of this migration: based on an analysis of published memoirs and correspondence, it presents the topic of the religiosity of those Czechs, and especially the Czech teachers who worked in Bulgaria. The study concludes that the Czech intelligentsia in Bulgaria either did not feel a need to express their religious belief and write about their experiences with religious ceremonies, or were entirely indifferent towards religious issues.
