Examining the Relationship Between Technostress, Productivity and Job Satisfaction: An Application on Accounting Professionals

Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to examine the level of relationship between technostress, technological productivity and job satisfaction factors. Another purpose of the study is to investigate whether variables such as gender, age and education level are effective on these factors. In this framework, data were obtained by face-to-face interviews with 172 professional members registered to Adıyaman Chamber of Certified Public Accountants. Confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, t test, one way anova and post hoc test were used in the evaluation process of these data. As a result of the analyses, a positive moderate relationship was found between techno overload dimension of technostress and technological efficiency, a positive weak relationship between techno complexity dimension and technological efficiency, and a positive strong relationship between techno uncertainty dimension and efficiency. It was determined that techno overload and techno uncertainty dimensions have a weak positive relationship with job satisfaction. In relational terms, a positive moderate relationship was found between technological efficiency and job satisfaction. In addition, it was found that gender variable was determinant on techno overload and job satisfaction, age had a function on techno complexity dimension and education level did not have a significant role on all dimensions of technostress, technological efficiency and job satisfaction.
