Summary/Abstract: Assertive communication represents an essential competence in the professional activities of institutions responsible for maintaining public order, significantly contributing to the prevention and management of conflicts. Unlike passive or aggressive styles, assertive communication is grounded in the clear, direct, and respectful expression of one's opinions, rights, and needs, without infringing upon the dignity of the interlocutor. In the context of interactions with citizens, this approach fosters an atmosphere of trust, reduces tensions, and limits the escalation of potentially conflictual situations. Research in social psychology and communication sciences demonstrates that the consistent application of assertiveness principles strengthens the authority of law enforcement personnel while simultaneously increasing the level of cooperation from the community. Thus, assertive communication is not merely an interpersonal technique but also an operational strategy that supports institutional effectiveness and public safety. Moreover, cultivating this skill contributes to the development of emotional intelligence and the improvement of social relationships, which are key elements for maintaining harmony and stability within society. The significant contribution of assertive communication is reflected in the reduction of professional stress perceived by law enforcement officers when managing the conflicts they encounter daily in the performance of their duties, as well as in the positive feedback received from citizens within the dynamics of the communication process.
