Summary/Abstract: Migration movements from the Balkans to Türkiye during the Republican period had profound effects on the country’s demographic, economic, and social structure. Romania, as one of the major source countries of these movements, played a significant role in the migration of Turkish and Muslim populations to the homeland. This study examines the migration of Turks from Romania to Türkiye during the Republican era, focusing specifically on the case of Adapazarı. The main objective of the research is to analyze the settlement processes of Romanian Turkish migrants in Adapazarı, the challenges they faced, and their contributions to the city’s economic and social development. The study is based on population censuses, archival documents, contemporary newspapers, and secondary sources. The findings indicate that Adapazarı became an important settlement area for Romanian migrants due to its fertile agricultural lands, transportation facilities, and economic opportunities. Through the implementation of planned settlement policies by the state, migrants were rapidly transformed into productive members of society and actively participated in agricultural production, thereby contributing to the local economy. Furthermore, the solidarity established between the local population and the migrants played a crucial role in ensuring social integration. In conclusion, the migration from Romania to Adapazarı can be considered one of the successful local examples of the Republican population and settlement policies.
