Summary/Abstract: The study aims to explore the challenges faced by men and women in finding an ideal workplace in Czechia and Poland. It focuses on gender differences in the job search process, including the role of qualifications, references, commuting, and mobility. The findings may help understand how different social and economic environments influence labor market opportunities and preferences. The research is based on a survey conducted as part of a scientific project on labor market analysis in the V4 countries. Data was collected in Czechia and Poland and analyzed using statistical methods to examine gender differences in job search obstacles. The applied methods included the chi-square test, which helped determine the significance of observed differences. The results indicate that while some factors, such as qualifications or mobility, do not show significant gender differences, other areas reveal clear disparities. Men tend to prioritize higher salaries, whereas women place greater emphasis on work-life balance. The study also highlights how social and economic environments shape these differences and how certain labor market barriers affect men and women differently. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that employers develop employment strategies that take into account gender-related differences in preferences and challenges. Workplace policies that better align with employee needs can enhance job search efficiency, increase workplace satisfaction, and improve productivity.
