Summary/Abstract: The present study analyses the integration of a digital learning system – comprising digital tools (such as Quizlet, Baamboozle, and Anki), e-learning platforms (such as Duolingo and Mondly), and AI-based technologies – in the teaching and assessment of Romanian as a foreign language, highlighting their impact on foreign students' motivation and language skills development. Starting from the perspective formulated by Bernd Rüschoff in the article ”Digital Tools in Language Education – Origins, Frameworks, Perspectives,” (Rüschoff 2022), we will analyse how technology is reflected in the process of teaching foreign languages through a comparative approach to learning activities based on digital tools and those using traditional methods. We will consider digital tools that can be integrated into classroom activities for developing and assessing communication skills, but which can also be used independently by students, detailing their advantages and limitations. The analysis will highlight the impact of this approach on student motivation, language skills development, and how students perceive and value the integration of technology into the learning process.
