Summary/Abstract: Civic competences are one of the eight key competences necessary for full personal development and informed and active participation in social and professional life. They play an important role in enabling the individual to function effectively in a dynamically changing world. They gain particular importance in the process of juvenile rehabilitation, which should not only shape respect for the law, but, above all, prepare alumni for full, responsible and conscious participation in society. The purpose of the conducted research was to determine how civic competencies are defined, described and included in the internal documents of rehabilitation institutions. Content analysis of educational and preventive programs was carried out, using the method of searching secondary sources and thematic analysis, both deductive and inductive. The results showed that civic education in the centers focuses mainly on patriotic education with a conservative character, while issues related to human rights, democratic principles and active participation in public life are addressed much less frequently. Qualitative analysis revealed the need to expand programs with content that promotes a more comprehensive approach to civic education, which will more effectively prepare alumni to function consciously in a democratic society.
