Summary/Abstract: This study examines the marks of oneirism in Leonid Dimov’s lyric poetry, with a particular focus on the poem La capătul somnului. The analysis situates Dimov’s poetics within the broader theoretical framework of the fantastic, while also highlighting its affinities with the Baroque aesthetic. Drawing on the perspectives of theorists such as Tzvetan Todorov, Roger Caillois, and Dumitru Țepeneag, the paper explores how Dimov’s poetry destabilizes the conventional boundaries between reality and the imaginary through the oneiric mode. Special attention is given to the poet’s theoretical reflections on aesthetic oneirism and the principles of the “new art” that he articulated in his essays, including the disruption of cause–effect relations and the transgression of everyday ethics through aesthetic objectification. The study also considers Dimov’s correspondence and critical reception in order to contextualize his poetic program. Through a close reading of La capătul somnului, the paper demonstrates how the poem exemplifies Dimov’s characteristic blending of dream logic, lexical exuberance, and baroque imagery, producing a poetic universe in which the real and the fantastic become indistinguishable. Ultimately, the analysis argues that Dimov’s oneiric poetics represents not merely a thematic exploration of dreams but a complex aesthetic strategy that reconfigures perception, narrative coherence, and the reader’s interpretative expectations.
