Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the narrative perspective in Mircea Eliade’s novella, focusing on the mechanisms of storytelling and the role of the character-narrator, Zaharia Fărâmă (Pe strada Mântuleasa …). The study highlights how the report-type narration is structured through the alternation between the speaker’s and the listener’s interventions, the use of verb tenses, repetitions, and internal evaluations. The analysis examines the dialogic dynamics and the pragmatic strategies employed to maintain the interlocutor’s interest, as well as the metadiscursive insertions that enhance the credibility and tension of the narration. In conclusion, the narrative perspective becomes a key instrument through which Eliade builds ambiguity, mystery, and the authenticity of the narrated experience.
