Summary/Abstract: People with various disabilities constitute a significant share (approx. 14.3%) of the Polish population. The aim of this article is to assess whether the offer made by banks operating in Poland is accessible to this group of customers and whether the offer meets the requirements of the principle of equal treatment. The article highlights examples of good practices in adapting the offer of banks operating in Poland to the needs of people with disabilities and identifies main barriers faced by this group of customers. It also identifies applicable legal acts aimed at increasing the accessibility of services for people with disabilities and presents the institutions responsible for overseeing the implementation of the resulting mandatory requirements. The thesis states that despite the application of the principle of equality, gaps in the adaptation of banking services to the needs of people with disabilities can be found in practice. In addition to positively verifying this thesis, the article also provides recommendations aimed at increasing the current level of accessibility of banking services to people with disabilities.
