Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the relationship between city size and its productivity, focusing on two main questions: whether city productivity increases with city size and whether there is a relationship between the city size and the dynamics of productivity growth. The first part presents a theoretical framework based on the literature review. Then, using statistical methods of data analysis, it is shown that larger cities in Poland are characterised by higher productivity. At the same time, no clear relationship was found between the size of cities and the rate of productivity change. Wage levels were used as a measure of city productivity, which was justified with reference to economic theories. Finally, the paper discusses the observed trends and suggests possible directions for future research.
