Poland Food Security Compared to Major European Union Countries

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this material is to demonstrate the state of Polish food security against a back drop of major European Union member countries. The main effort was put into balance of production of basic food articles (meat, grain and milk). From the methodological point of view object of the study is food security, research entity is Government of the Republic of Poland and major European Union countries. Time ranges of analysis are last few years and the closest perspective. Spatial range is Poland and key EU countries. The structure of this study consists of seven connected points. Three of them are theoretical aspects of the problem (place and function, understanding, survey). Four more are analysis and assessment (global spin, situation of our country, opportunities and threats).
