The Evolution of the Position of Poland’s Economy in the Global Economy and the Economy of the European Union

Summary/Abstract: The paper gives the analysis of the changing position of Poland’s economy in the global economy and the EU economy in the period of 2003–2012. The first part of the paper gives the analysis of the growth of GDP, exports and imports, and inward and outward flows of foreign direct investments against the background of the changes of the same variables. The second part presents the assessments of the resulting changes of the position of Poland’s economy in the global economy and in the EU economy. The third part includes considerations about the future evolution of the analysed variables as well as some recommendations for the economic policy performed by the government and enterprises as regards the conditions of the further development of Poland’s economy in the era of globalization and internationalization.
