Summary/Abstract: This curriculum development study examines how the Institute of Special Education Studies at the Faculty of Education, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic has progressively integrated the concept of wellbeing into the curricula of its special education programmes and related community outreach activities. This development draws on insights from the I Can Do It, Restart, and Visegrad Fund projects, as well as student evaluations, professional practice needs, and recent research evidence. The paper outlines the theoretical foundations of wellbeing, precisely, The Five Ways to Wellbeing, Mindfulness, and Wilderness therapy, and demonstrates how these constructs are incorporated into courses on psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and expressive therapies. The discussion further considers both the benefits and the potential risks associated with embedding wellbeing within higher education programmes for future special educators.
