Summary/Abstract: The greatest challenge in transmitting spiritual and cultural heritage to younger generations lies in preparing this transfer. Such heritage constitutes a shared cultural asset, while education is the primary means by which cultural transmission takes place from one generation to the next. At a time when younger generations are digitally literate and rapid technological advancement continues to exert a powerful attraction, the transmission of spiritual and cultural heritage is becoming increasingly difficult in the absence of effective educational policies grounded in much-needed curricular reform. In this article, the author aims to identify the educational factors that hinder the effective transmission of this heritage, explores ways of adapting the Romanian educational system to the natural need to prepare future generations for the challenges ahead, and proposes approaches through which the transfer of knowledge may take place within a cultural and identity continuum capable of resisting ideological distortion and alienation from the roots.
