Summary/Abstract: Lucian Vasiliu explores the intellectual relationship between two leading members of Junimea literary circle: Teodor T. Burada, a pioneer of Romanian folklore studies, and A.D. Xenopol, a historian of European stature. The article draws on a previously unpublished manuscript by Burada, preserved in the archives of the Romanian Literature Museum in Iași, which outlines Xenopol’s life and scholarly career. The article further emphasizes Xenopol’s international recognition, from his lectures at the Sorbonne to his election to the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in Paris. Burada’s archive thus emerges as a source of inspiration for creative endeavor and Romanian cultural dignity in the twenty-first century.
