Summary/Abstract: The article offers a reflection on cultural and spiritual heritage, understood not as repetition but as the act of making tradition bear fruit, inspired by the Parable of the Talents. The first line of argument emphasizes the need for a “culture of heritage” grounded in axiological responsibility and qualitative continuity. In the context of digital technologies, the author argues for a balance between the benefits of digitalization and the preservation of the capacity for “deep work” and reflective thinking. The second line of argument is a plea for recognizing and valuing outstanding living intellectuals, centering on the work of Mircea Martin. The article explores his understanding of moral heritage, the need for a coherent cultural strategy, and the concept of “culture of life”, presenting them as expressions of the interplay between unity and versatility. In conclusion, heritage is presented as an ethical choice of “being” over “having”, grounded in discernment, maturity, and respect for enduring values.
