Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse the conceptual distinction between the nature and character of war as defined by Carl von Clausewitz and reinterpreted in the context of contemporary technological and informational transformations. While the nature of war, as a political and human act, remains constant, its character undergoes significant transformations under the impact of technological progress. This article explores how the evolution of artificial intelligence, hypersonic weapons, robotics, and global communication reshapes strategy, perception, and the ethics of warfare, without altering its essence – that of a confrontation between political wills. Through a historical, theoretical, and analytical approach, it demonstrates that, despite rapid modernisation, the nature of conflict remains unchanged, while the character of war becomes increasingly complex, incorporating psychological, informational, social, economical and cyber dimensions.
