Summary/Abstract: The impact of negative experiences of individuals sentenced in their childhood, such as violence, neglect, lack of medical care, emotional instability, or even sexual exploitation, along with parents' or caregivers' addiction to alcohol or other substances, is perceived by convicted people as a detrimental experience in relation to their own criminal past. The presented research material reveals multiple connections between early emotional and health traumas experienced during childhood and adolescence and subsequent social, legal, or adjustment challenges in future life.
