Summary/Abstract: St. Quirin(us) of Neuss (or of Rome) was one of the martyrs of early Christianity, whose life and work have been handed down through church tradition, sometimes with legendary elements. Quirinus of Neuss is known today primarily as the patron saint of the city on the banks of the Rhine and is also venerated in other parts of Europe. The cathedral housing his relics in the city of Neuss is an important pilgrimage site in Germany and an architectural landmark that continues to attract considerable interest today. St. Quirinus is commemorated every year on April 30 in the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
