Summary/Abstract: On the day when the soldiers of the Theban Legion are mentioned (September 22), led by their commanders, Saints Mauritius and Candidus, the Church also mentions a holy missionary from Germany, less known: St. Emmeram of Regensburg. He is, along with Saints Rupert of Salzburg and Corbinian of Freising, among the most important missionaries of the early Middle Ages in Bavarian territory.
