Summary/Abstract: The dependence between education and earnings is an important characteristic of social stratification. Using survey data on labour market the author analyses the evolution of this dependence in Poland in the period of 1988–2013 for different employment categories and various education levels (with some other control variables). The results indicate that, despite some fluctuation, the dependence between education levels and earnings is still quite strong and the wage premium for education remains considerable. This suggests that income distribution and social stratification tend to develop according to the functioning principles of a market economy.
