Summary/Abstract: Despite the progress made in terms of academic research, there are still aspects of Hun society that remain insufficiently clarified. Among these aspects are those related to the political organization of the Hunnic confederation. This study aims to analyse the evolution of Hunnic political structures over a period of approximately eight decades, corresponding to their presence in the region north of the Lower Danube. The evolution of the Huns’ leadership structures is traced from the warriors’ assemblies to Attila’s unified rule. One of the topics covered is the power dynamic between Attila and Bleda during their joint rule. The analysis is mainly based on information provided by authors such as Ammianus Marcellinus, Zosimos, Iordanes, Olympiodorus of Thebe and Priscus of Panium. The comparative analysis of information from primary sources is supplemented by data from the academic literature.
