Summary/Abstract: The study aims to show, based on literary sources, the importance that Zalmoxis had in ancient Dacia and the resemblance between his doctrines and the Greco-Roman doctrines. We have analyzed various components of Zalmoxis and the religions of mysteries ideology and the evolution of dacian society before and after Roman conquest. There are in this sense analogies and even a continuity with Christianity.
