Summary/Abstract: This article presents a model of psycho-speech therapy intervention for personality disorders in pre-school children with dysarthria. The paper sets out the rationale for an integrative psycho-speech therapy approach to intervention, in which speech is viewed as a tool for developing a child’s sense of self and psychological well-being. A two-level structure of the personality of a child with dysarthria is described, which enables the organisation of remedial intervention. The proposed programme is based on the principle of «from basic regulation to individual activity», where the priority is the development of the communicative, emotive and regulatory functions of speech, rather than the traditional focus on phonetics. Particular attention is paid to the role of the family as the primary setting for rehabilitation, where shifting parental focus from the quality of pronunciation to the child’s performance becomes a key factor in reducing speech anxiety and stabilising self-esteem. The implementation of this approach helps to establish the psychological foundation necessary for the successful social integration of pre-school children, regardless of the severity of their speech impairment.
