Summary/Abstract: Doris Lessing’s inner space novels tackle her characters’ inner journeys. This paper presents Doris Lessing’s novel The Memoirs of a Survivor which consistently uses illusion as if it were reality. The novel is about Emily’s personal growth and the guardian’s help in this process. The guardian, who remains unnamed, passes through the wall into Emily’s inner world, where she finds chaos and tries to make order out of it.
