Summary/Abstract: The paper Educational valences in Charles Perrault’s fairy tales presents one of the first professional story-tellers of the world: Charles Perrault. After presenting his biographical data, we portrayed him as the first representative of the children’s literature, being the first professional writer who gathered folk tales and published them in volume. Some of his masterpieces are: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, Puss in the Boots and Blue Beard. The last part of the paper tackles the educational valences which stand out from his fairy tales.
