Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) as innovative technologies that significantly enhance the quality of education in Bulgarian schools. By applying modern information and communication technologies, educational professionals are able to engage students’ attention more effectively, leading to a more focused learning process and better knowledge retention. Specific examples of Bulgarian schools with successful VR/AR integration are examined, demonstrating considerable improvements in student motivation, critical thinking, and academic achievement. The article highlights that the use of these technologies not only enriches the educational content, but also serves as an indicator of teachers’ professional competence in modern education. In this way, VR/AR are established as key tools for modernizing the educational system and preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
