Summary/Abstract: The 'Czeska Bajka' series ['Czech Fairy Tales'], published by the Wrocław-based Afera Publishing House, serves as an example of a deliberate strategy aimed at promoting contemporary Czech literature for children and young adults on the Polish book market. The analysis focuses on the role of paratextual elements found on the book covers in shaping the reception of these works and their content within the Polish cultural context. It is emphasized that translation is a multifaceted process that involves not only linguistic, but also visual and cultural dimensions. The reflection centers on the graphic and typographic design of the Polish editions of Czech books published between 2010 and 2022, considered in terms of their functions as paratextual components.
