Iconographic design of wall paintings in a contemporary Orthodox church. Tradition and problems

Summary/Abstract: The creation of a decorative system for the arrangement of the Orthodox churchconsist of certain specific rules, as well as some technical and technological once toexpose a desired plot. The developing ment of the contemporary Orthodox churcharchitecture undoubtedly changes the theme variation in the mural painting.Classical iconography, established iconclastik period and imposed as a theologicalsystem had faced the challenge to ”obey” the unexpected stylistic and structuraladjustment of the architecture. Today the development of decoration is studied in theinterdisciplinary aspect, as a synthensis between architecture, art and liturgicalseries.
