Summary/Abstract: A temple is a building for public worship (1), also called a Church. It is the house of God and God is present in it. The prototype of the Christian temple is the Old Testament tabernacle, and its plan fully corresponds to its parts. The temple in the Orthodox Church is the center of religious life and a place where believers gather to join the Holy Liturgy. The temple is a sign and symbol of the existence of visible and invisible reality. The Holy Liturgy is performed in it, which includes separate components - music, theater, painting. It is filled with symbols that are strongly rooted in its essence. Initially, the liturgy had the meaning of a public service, and after the establishment of the Church as an institution, it became a Sacred Act.
