Summary/Abstract: This article is a case study of gender identity and homosexuality in interwar Kaunas. Young woman Teklė Sabastijauskaitė dressed as a man from her adolescence, did jobs which were considered to be masculine at that time, called herself by a male name (Tadas Sabastijauskas) and had romantic relationship with women. She had commited a few crimes (thefts and a fraud) and because of that, the judicial documents (dating 1929–1935) allowed to tell a story of a short period of her life, to analyse her personality, everyday life, sexuality, and homosexual relationship.
