Music-Historical Competence of Trainee Music Teachers

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the meaning and necessity of knowledge, skills and competencies, connected with the history of music art as a prerequisite for a successful musical teaching career. Theoretic foundations, connected with the professional development of trainee music teachers are offered. Music-historical competence is advanced and substantiated as a component, ensuring the realization of all activities in the work of a music teacher. Components of music-historical competence are analysed and developed.
