Summary/Abstract: This study explores the similarities and differences in the symbolism of the fish across three cultural contexts — Chinese, Bulgarian, and Christian. It examines both the shared features and the specific distinctions among them. Mythological and religious layers are analyzed alongside contemporary interpretations and folkloric motifs to reveal how a single image can acquire similar depth while assuming different functions and meanings depending on cultural context and human perceptions of the world.
