Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the notion of verbal action as a connector between verbs, which act as carriers of intention, and verbal nouns. It further explores intentional modifications in the noun transformation of verbs. The article offers a delineation of this transformational process with regard to the two main word types and the changes in the original intention of the verbal action, conditioned by their substantive transformation. The author proposes a classification of verbs into four distinct intentional categories, demonstrating that the outcomes of nominalization differ across these types. In transformed structures, the syntactic validity of derived components is subject to alteration. In addition to changes in meaning and form, fundamentally different word order relationships between these components also apply. Furthermore, the situation differs with regard to the occurrence of verbal nouns in speech practice when transforming verbs within individual intentional types.
