Summary/Abstract: The artistic personality of Maestro Vlad Burlea represents a case study of particular relevance for the synthesis of tradition and innovation within contemporary musical culture. His active presence in national and international concert life, coupled with a prodigious teaching career in artistic education institutions in Chisinau, underpins the context in which scores of great ideological complexity are born. In this evolutionary framework, the work Adjem Tarab emerges as a reference creation for understanding the aesthetic mutations in the maestro's work. The present study aims to explore the ethno-stylistic dimension and the interpretative innovations present in this opus, arguing the way in which the composer manages to synthesize elements of oriental-modal origin in a rigorously articulated chamber discourse, specific to the contemporary European spirit.
