Summary/Abstract: The article presents the analysis of sources and discoveries made during inventorying procedures in reference to the relics of sculpture and architectural ornamentation that remain from furnishings of carved wood, i.e. the high altar and the pulpit, commissioned in 1725 in Gdańsk for the church of the Conventual Franciscans in Zamość by the then owners of the Zamość Entail, Michał Zdzisław Saryusz Zamoyski and his wife Katarzyna née Wiśniowiecka. As a result of the dissolution of the monastery in 1819 and the dismantling of the retable and pulpit in 1820, the pieces in question, i.e. architectural elements, statues and ornaments, were moved to several Roman Catholic churches in the area of the former Zamość Entail; the move occurred before 1839 at the latest. The churches in question were those in Szczebrzeszyn, Wielącza, Chłaniów, Turobin and Górecko Kościelne. Two small statues of angels came, via Turobin, to the Archdiocesan Museum in Lublin. The article presents a general reconstruction of both pieces and a comparative analysis of sculptural relics with coeval works of sculpture produced in Antwerp and Amsterdam. Also, their supposed author is shown to have had close connections with the classicising mode within the High Baroque sculpture in the Spanish Netherlands and the Republic of the Seven United Provinces of Northern Netherlands.
