Summary/Abstract: The current article attempts to identify language areas which pose a recurring problem for university students and that are likely to be directly associated with the shortcomings at the early stages of education. A small-scale observational study is reported. The identified linguistic errors were mainly of a grammatical and phonetic nature. The implications have been formulated that tap onto these particular aspects. It is highly recommended that early education and primary school teachers curiously delve into the findings of the study in order to avoid neglecting certain language skills or linguistic subsystems.
