Summary/Abstract: The report investigates the rights of migrants and refugees regarding their cultural heritage, emphasising the importance of protecting their identity and intangible cultural practices in the context of migration. Migration is a global phenomenon that affects hundreds of millions of people. In conditions of wars, persecutions, and economic difficulties, migrants often lose access to their cultural heritage. The issue of protecting the cultural identity of migrants is becoming increasingly relevant. The report uses qualitative and quantitative data gathered from international conventions and organisations to analyse the rights of migrants and refugees. It discusses specific examples of initiatives and programmes aimed at preserving cultural practices. The report aims to examine the rights of migrants concerning their intangible cultural heritage, emphasising the protection of identity and cultural practices in the context of immigration in the Republic of Bulgaria. It explores the challenges, analyses the roles of states and organisations, and proposes policies and programmes. The analysis shows that the right to identity is crucial for migrants. Many organisations are committee to preserving their cultural traditions through educational programmes and cultural events. Nevertheless, challenges remain significant, including financial constraints and social isolation.
