Intergenerational relations in the works of Małgorzata Lebda

Summary/Abstract: The article offers an interpretation of the poetic works and prose fragments of Małgorzata Lebda. The analysis of the texts makes it possible to examine the bonds between the lyrical subject or narrator and members of her closest family – her father, mother, and grandmother. Each of the relationships discussed shows how family ties undergo transformation in the face of illness. These relationships directly shape the identity of the female subject-narrator – illness and the loss of loved ones compel her to adapt to new family and social roles and to learn how to live with the experience of loss and transience.
