He-subject and She-subject between the lines. On the poetry of Kira Pietrek

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to examine the construction of the subjects in Kira Pietrek’s poetry. Elements useful for understanding the poet’s lyrical self, such as the views of Ryszard Nycz or Andrzej Zawadzki, are reconstructed from the theory of subjectivity. The category of the subject proposed in the article is the fight-or-flight principle taken from the field of psychology. This principle highlights the pattern of collaboration, fight and flight inscribed in the construction of the lyrical subjects, which provides knowledge about contemporary subjectivity and identity in literature.
