Around the (Theory of) Verse

Summary/Abstract: The article presents preliminary remarks on versification and the theory of verse, presenting the most important figures present in the discourse of versology in the passing century on the Polish and European (or more broadly, Western) research scene, as well as the most important domestic and foreign publications, in which the issues of verse, versification, and versology are present. Simultaneously, it shows knowledge about verse as an element of literary or cultural studies in general – constantly present and topical, despite changing fashions, trends, and paradigms.
