Summary/Abstract: Although bilateral relations between Italy and Türkiye were officially established on March 4, 1924, historical and cultural ties between the two countries date back to the Ottoman Empire and the Italian city-states. This study aims to examine cultural relations between Italy and Türkiye during the Republican era through the lens of cultural diplomacy. The study focuses on cultural domains such as academic collaborations, art events, cultural centers, educational and scientific exchange programs, and civil society interactions, while excluding political, military, and economic cooperation. The research primarily draws on Italian sources; reports, announcements and cultural cooperation protocols published by relevant official institutions in both Italy and Türkiye are analyzed using document analysis methods. The analysis reveals that the existing literature largely addresses Italian-Turkish relations through political and economic dimensions, with cultural relations remaining in a secondary position. In this context, the study seeks to fill a significant gap in the literature by examining cultural relations between the two countries through institutional structures and official cooperation mechanisms within the framework of cultural diplomacy. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that cultural interaction between Italy and Türkiye constitutes a key element of a multifaceted soft power strategy grounded in a shared Mediterranean identity.
