ISTORIA PREZENTĂ A ACTIVITĂȚII MUZICALE ÎN CADRUL MĂNĂSTIRII CONGREGAȚIEI MAICII DOMNULUI DIN CLUJ-NAPOCA
THE CURRENT HISTORY OF MUSICAL ACTIVITY WITHIN THE MONASTERY OF THE CONGREGATION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD IN CLUJ-NAPOCA

Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article is the musical activity carried out during the 20th century by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Mother of God, which came to light with the celebration in 2021 of a centenary since its establishment. Bearing in mind that the musical activity of this congregation was strongly influenced by socio-political and historical events, but was linked at its beginnings mainly to the educational activity, we will chronologically present the educational institutions established during this century of activity with the special moments of activity music that stood out and are documented. At the end of the communication, we will make a presentation of the musical activities of the present, in accordance with the requirements of the current society, thus making possible a succinct and documented presentation of a picture of the history and evolution of the musical activities of this Congregation carried out during a century of activity.
