Summary/Abstract: George Enescu, represents the outstanding personality of Romanian music who combines these two concepts - the national and the universal - into a unitary whole, through which he laid the foundations of the Romanian School of Composition from the beginning of the 20th century. In the present study we aimed to identify some stylistic landmarks from a series of branded works belonging to his camera creation, in which these two concepts are present in different aspects. In the introduction, after the definition of the two terms, we will start from the opinion of the musicologist Viorel Cosma regarding some theoretical foundations of the National-Universal relationship in Romanian music, following that within the work we will develop this perspective to present the most defining aspects of the National and the Universal in a selection of highly popular works from Enescian chamber music. If with regard to national particularities, there is a clear direction to approach them, regarding universality we will follow two complementary opinions: that of the teacher and musicologist Ovidiu Varga, according to which the complexity of the contemporary musical phenomenon implies a dialectical connection of the two concepts, and that of the academician O. L. Cosma, regarding universal-national interference in Romanian music. In conclusion, we will strengthen through the significant examples presented, these valuable opinions, which we have established in several national and universal landmarks from Enescian chamber creation.
