Summary/Abstract: The present paper focuses on the poetic style in Ion Pillat`s first poems, namely in the poems that have been discovered recently. It aims at identifying and analyzing the main figures of speech, mainly the metaphors and similes. After a brief presentation of the way Ion Pillat`s first poems have been discovered, there are some metaphors examined in full detail from the point of view of the cognitive linguistics and that of Group μ, as well as some similes examined from the point of view of the traditional linguistics, namely that of Group μ.
