Summary/Abstract: This study examines the migration motives of young individuals who migrated from Türkiye to the Netherlands, how their pre-migration educational and professional qualifications are evaluated after migration, and their adaptation experiences. In the 1960s, Western European countries received a large number of labor migrants from Türkiye to compensate for economic and workforce losses following World War II, and these migrants were primarily employed in low-skilled jobs. Today, migration is no longer limited to low-skilled labor but also includes highly educated individuals seeking better career opportunities and living conditions. However, some of these individuals are employed in jobs that do not match their professional qualifications in the host country. This situation is discussed within the framework of skill mismatch in the labor market. The study is based on semi-structured interviews conducted with 15 participants aged between 25 and 30. The qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, revealing key findings related to employment experiences and adaptation processes.
