Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the temporal change in population distribution across different elevation zones in the Güzelhisar Stream Basin between 1950 and 2024. Settlements were classified into four elevation categories: 0–200 m, 200–400 m, 400–600 m, and 600–800 m, and demographic data were evaluated using both graphical and thematic map representations. The findings reveal that the 200–400 m elevation consistently hosted the largest share of the population throughout the study period; however, its dominance gradually declined after the 1980s. Conversely, the 400–600 m zone gained relative importance after the 2000s, indicating a shift toward demographic stability in midelevation belts. Areas above 600 meters remained limited in terms of settlement density and population size, reflecting restricted potential for rural habitation. In conclusion, the demographic patterns within the basin are influenced not only by spatial distribution but also by temporal population dynamics that are highly sensitive to elevation. This highlights the importance of elevation-based analyses for rural settlement planning and regional development strategies.
